The Giantess Comes Home
I marvel at how much I feel like a giant each time I return to this house. I've been back almost a dozen times since we moved to the States over a quarter of a century ago, but I still vividly remember views of this place from a much lower vantage point!

Don't worry, your still my petite little flower. Giant-ness is only a state of mind :)
in one way it's a great odyssey for you to return home over the vast pacific, in comparsion with plain vanilla americans from wichita. but count your blessings. my parents' families fled china's civil war, never to return. those homes exist only as memories in my grandparents' fading minds, never to be seen again, much less brightened by the laughter of new generations. my parents moved half a dozen times in california alone chasing the american dream. i have driven by some of the old houses to take a look, but to the inhabitants i'm a stalker, not a cherished returning son.
i guess what i'm saying is that it's nice to have a home with roots, no matter how far away, and that the richness of a house can be measured in memories more than square footage.
glad you could make it home.
